I've decided to try to blog about my experience with a DSLR camera. Currently, I'm using a Nikon D3000. This wasn't by choice, but rather a gift from my wonderful hubby for my something-birthday last year. Quite honestly, I only knew friends who had Canon Rebels and that's what I had been reading about. He did research and came upon the Nikon D3000 and a package deal and the rest is history. I'm now a Nikon user. And I DO love it!
Another part of the gift included a class at a local (LARGE) university. It's an introductory DSLR class, though it seems anything but introductory. Before the first class, we already had three emails worth of "homework". I'm determined to get my money's-worth out of this class and the camera. Hubby and I hope that we will save money in the long-run on photography sessions with the kiddos.
You see, we have triplets. And there are lots of missed opportunities to get them to a photographer for one milestone birthday or another. It's a hassle. It's a chore. And they don't really like the other photographers anyway. It seems like an obvious choice to try to learn it and do it myself because they will hopefully be more comfortable around Mommy and her crazy camera.
So, here I am blogging about my experience in an effort to document my road to the "perfect picture" of each of my kids. I have a blog about them where I choose to post pics and life events because I just don't know that I'll ever be "that" mom who gets a scrapbook done for each of her beautiful children...to be given to them on their wedding day or some other important occasion. I just know that I'm not a slacker, but don't always finish projects like that. Why would I start another blog and a process to learn a new and complicated camera??? Who knows! I just hope that I can make hubby proud someday with my photographs of our wonderful family. :)
